great location in the Lakes
The hostel is very clean, really well appointed and the beds were so comfortable. We had a brilliant weekend stay with friends. The quirky interior and furniture was a taking point, makes the hostel distinctive and elevates it to boutique hotel quality in many ways. Really convenient and ideal for up to 16 people from mixed family groups wanting to stay in one place together

Lovely hostel, just like in the photos. Really great communal space and Amanda was a great host, giving suggestions for activities we could do during our stay and nice places to visit.

LAKES HOSTEL has comfort levels above and beyond. We stayed for 3 days last week and this place raises the bar for hotels let alone a hostels. Following an epic guided hike up Hellvellyn on blustery winters day, the steaming hot shower and the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in were a welcomed luxury.
We also took in the half day boat charter around Lake Windermere arranged for us by the Lakes Hostel. This is not to be missed. What scenery! We also stopped at a pub which had its own jetty which was a nice touch.
The location of the Hostel is central and a great base for exploring. Some lovely pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area, or you can get a take away and a few beers and make the most of the kitchen/living room at the hostel.
This place is hardly a hostel. It is very clean, warm, modern and well hosted. Great base for exploring the Lake District. Will definitely be staying again.

What a gem to find, went here with a group of friends for a birthday and it’s perfect, very clean and has everything we needed, location is perfect and near some great pubs and bars for nightlife. Amanda was very helpful throughout with help and recommendations We will definitely be coming back!
